@grte is free to post what they want, and I'm not saying them posting a multitude of news stories is inherently a bad thing as it generates activity, it's just not what I, or seemingly @MacroCyclo, want to fill our feeds with.
I'd agree, you could say it most likely falls into the healthcare bucket. That also doesn't make me optimistic for any sort of improvement given the current state of that in this province.
I was looking at a rail map of Saskatchewan not too long ago, and one could travel to most places in the province on rail if there were passenger service. Not surprising, given that was the primary mode of transport when most of the communities were first founded.
I doubt it would ever happen, but an actually useful passenger rail network with decent public transit at destinations would go a long way in reducing road infrastructure costs, especially in this province with a very high amount of road per capita. It's unfortunate we've spent nearly the last century completely infatuated with the automobile. One can only imagine what our towns and cities would look like if development practices weren't solely focused on ease of vehicle movement.
Does it have to be that way? Excuse my lack of fediverse and general networking knowledge, but couldn't a user instead retrieve the data directly from the instance a post is hosted on without their instance needing to interact with it at all?
I see how there's limited scalability in the example you provide, but I feel like it shouldn't be necessary for each instance to make their own copy of things and rather have the user get the data directly from the host instance.
For me, it would probably have to be my Bialetti moka pot and Dualit toaster. I make a pot of coffee and toast almost every morning. I also hope to replace my old pans with a cast iron one soon, and I look forward to using that a lot.
I'm hooked on induction all the way. It's such a pleasant cooking experience. Precise heat control all the way from just a little warm to basically melting the pan. Boil water in a couple minutes. No indoor air pollution like with gas.
I eat popcorn fairly often and I was wondering if I can improve on the taste with minimal effort. Do you guys know any good mix I could use instead of salt alone?
Oh, my friend, there's this stuff called Chicago Mix that is half cheesy popcorn (just a cheesy powder) and half carmel popcorn. It's a rather tasty blend of salty and sweet.
What is something you could never get tired of eating? That one dish, meal, or snack that no matter the day, you know if you had just a piece that time would stand still while you enjoyed that food for just one moment?...

This sub is entirely CBC
Why is this sub just CBC news stories? Does a bot add them all? They are mostly empty with no comments. Makes for a strange feed....

How does lemmy.ca or any instance plan to support it self?
Just curious as this is all fun and open till it scales to expensive. What is the lemmy.ca plan to sustain / fund it self?...
