Which RSS aggregator do you use? I cannot seem to find one that works for me.

I cannot stand google news any more, too much spam, clickbait and advertisement. So I decided to try to selfhost an RSS aggregator to make myself a news feed that I would be comfortable with. Being RSS such an “ancient” thing I thought there will be many mature systems, but I’m not sure that’s the case…...

The prioritisation and filtering system is the main reason I keep using TTRSS. I haven't found anything remotely as robust in the 6 years I've been using it. I'd be very happy if anyone knows of another option.

Just came across an interesting blog post on the history of Infocom, the creators of Zork. Guess what caught my attention?

Mastodon comments embedded right in the post. How cool is that? It seems like the work of @carlschwan's JavaScript snippet that’s behind this.

Personally, I've always imagined such integration happening with the Fediverse, empowering comment sections on various sites. And with the fact that WordPress already has a plugin for ActivityPub, more sites might have this capability. Since WordPress powers 43% of websites, a huge chunk of the web already has the potential for this.

Pretty amazing, don't you think?

[Question] Podcast streaming to Raspberry Pi

I'm planning on setting up a music streamer. I'll be throwing headless to play my music library and I'll probably use as the base image to get me bluetooth, airplay and a few other bits. Does anyone know how I can integrate podcasts into the platform? I was thinking of setting up an server and clients on my mobile devices but I'm not sure how to stream a podcast to the pi so that it keeps track of my position across all my devices.

My primary way of getting news? Good old with various reputable sources.

After the departure of Google Reader, I was using Feedly but in light of their AI surveillance efforts I canceled the account and run on my tiny home server.

Client is on iPhone and iPad - a perfect app if there ever was one.

@stooovie I use tt-rss because I haven't found another platform that has a regexp based grouping function. It means I can add a ton of RSS sources and then create keyword topics for anything I'm interested in.
