My number 1 tip for any conference attendees - consider buying a new pair of running shoes before the conference.

Running around for a week in my 4 year old runners was a horrible idea.

Now that #PyConUS is over, why not attend and support a regional #Python conference?

PyCon US sold out this year, and it will probably continue to do so. Smaller, regional events are going to be a more important part of how we support the growth of our community, but we need your support -- attendance and sponsorship -- to fulfil that role.

I run @NorthBayPython (#NBPy), but there's plenty of others in the US, including fellow @ThePSF events @pycascades and @pyohio off the top of my head.

When I was in London checks watch 3 weeks ago, I was quite loud about how there wouldn't be an election until December, because who the hell would call an election after those Council elections.

Here's one thing I don't like about how software people write documentation:

If A is a type of X and B is a type of X, there's a preference to separate X into its own definition elsewhere (like deduplicating code by putting it in a function). But this means the explanation of A or B is incomplete, because you have to click to learn what X is. If X is a type of Y, now you have to click again to figure out Y. You just wanted to learn what B was, but now you have to learn everything.
