My army fought a demon one & won but at what freaking cost! I had 89 soldiers out of which 6 (six) remained!! And the game would tell me sometimes the morale was high!! HOW!!

Also, one troop was much smaller & harder to kill, & both did more damage to me per round than I them

I did so much dumb crap in the game tonight I'm even ashamed to comment. Good night to you whose party members in the plural almost died and whose army has a -27 morale. How the heck am I supposed to come back from this.

Ok so. Today was even worse. Like, I argue I wasn't so dumb today, but gods, my army's morale is -90. I thought recruiting the Hellknights would give it a boost but nada. Now I'm on a deadlock because I can't advance given the extremely low recruitment.

I think I'll have to load last night's game in order to continue from a less bad morale. It's a bit of a cheat but I simply cannot do more rn, even if only with my party. Which kinda blows because the Hellknights are really good fighting. But it's what we have for today.

And yeah I know they're... Hellknights – even Seelah's lawful ass hates them – but when I added them to my army I actually WON some battles, which were the only non-suicidal missions, & they're very lawful so I think one might be able to count on them against the demons?

I think I'm gonna try this tomorrow: advance more towards Drezen to increase morale & expand my armies and THEN go back for the Hellknights. Dubious ethics or not, my character is desperate & she already accepted the quest so she can't bail now.

YEEHAW so a lot happened today. I ended up going back even further in the game because I ended up in the same deadlock as before with the low morale. I usually prefer to deal with the consequences of my character's actions but I literally had no other way through, I'm afraid.

Anyway, let's get down to business. I had to re-do a lot of quests, like, even the Jannah & Elan & Curl thingy, which kinda sucked, but it was totally worth it because DAMN the way things just FLOW like a river when morale is high!!! Money!! Recruitment!! Advances!!!

I kept most decisions wrt interactions to keep my OC's personality, but changed some military decisions. I think it's a bit meh that it turns out There Is One Correct Choice for Leper's Smile. I think there should be a balance between them, not having one pay off & the others penalize you so much.

To be fair tho I did end camp on the cave due to my party's fatigue, vastly underestimating the morale hit. And another criticism: NONE of the ~treasures there was worth the deadlock in which I ended. I think there should be a reward mostly equivalent to the penalty to reach some sort of balance.
