Book review #30 for 2024 is Collin Dexter's The Riddle of the Third Mile. This time Morse and Lewis face the task of identifying a severely mutilated corpse. Their journey takes them into the lives of men and women with much to hide. Book review #29 for 2024 is Collin Dexter's The Dead of Jericho. Another Inspector Morse installment. Tom Lake is not my favorite Ann Patchett book (and has one late reveal i rolled my eyes at), but the audiobook read by Meryl Streep is (predictably) beautiful. Very soothing, never boring. #books@bookstodon

Despite facing difficulties & setbacks during his lifetime (alcoholism and mental health issues), he continued to write until his death.

He was associated with the Parnassian movement, which emphasized formalism, craftsmanship, and the use of classical mythology and historical themes in poetry. He was also a prolific playwright and novelist. One of Aicard's most famous works is the novel "Le Roi de Camargue" (The King of Camargue), was published in 1872.
