found the rest of a discarded wallet on the street, just filled with the remaining cards the thief did not take. brought it to police station. was mistake, because it took over an hour. next time I try not to get fingerprints on it and drop it at police station mailbox.
@kaia still, I should thank on behalf of my past self! One day (in Paris) my wallet got stolen in the underground and when I realized it I started thinking about all the paperwork I would have to do to remake my ID card and driving license etc. but a few days later I got a phone call from the police and someone had found it and it had almost everything in it! I was SO happy and relieved…
So, thank you 🙏
@weirdwriter And why is it so hard to opt-out?
They have an option for everything else, but to opt-out of their “AI” looking at your messages and activity you have to… send an email??!
“Contact us to opt out. If you want to exclude your Customer Data from Slack global models, you can opt out. To opt out, please have your org, workspace owners or primary owner contact our Customer Experience team at feedback@slack.com with your workspace/org URL and the subject line ‘Slack global model opt-out request’. We will process your request and respond once the opt-out has been completed.”
Like most of you I've seen the stuff going around about slack. Does anyone know if this is a recent change or has it been like this for a while? And if there is a way to determine what your organization's status is with regards to opt out (if you're with a large org and aren't going to be able to ask slack yourself).
Have any other bra-wearers with hips/thighs wider than their shoulders ever successfully "stepped into" a bra?? Am I misunderstanding what "stepping into a bra" means??
Presumably it works for ppl with different proportions but mine aren't rare, why tf do bra manufacturers constantly tell me to try "stepping into a bra" if hooking it or pulling it over my head doesn't work?
(If your answer is "I don't wear bras (:", please note I specifically asked for input from a different demographic, ty)
@Sharksonaplane like.. putting the bra on legs first? Why would anyone want to do that?? It’s already hard enough to put one on from the top when they can’t open.
Generally I’m convinced that people who design bras are not the ones testing the bras out.
She further found that alpha and beta power are positively related with pupil size. It is not entirely clear what this reflects, but we and others often find this. 5/6 🧵
@sebastiaan this looks like it’s part of a(n interesting) thread but it doesn’t show as such to me.. did you post each post as an answer to the previous one?
The idea of a Credit Card is the perfect example of how much the US loves adding completely unnecessary steps to a process.
Debit card: pay a bill by transferring money from your bank account to the person’s account - 1 step
Credit card: pay a bill by using credit from a company, waiting from them to actually transfer the money, transferring money from your bank account, waiting for that to actually proceed otherwise you have no more “credit” in your credit card - 4 steps.
Also, never go below your available credit otherwise you’ll have to pay horrible interest!
Other examples: American taxes, American healthcare, American pension, American voting system,…
Not that anyone cares but here’s my most recent #CreditCard episode:
I bought a bunch of things on May 8th. The transaction was then “pending” for two days. Only then (May 10th) was I able to make a payment to reimburse myself. But the payment also took several days and the money only left my real bank account yesterday (May 13th). As of today (May 14th) my available credit is still not fully replenished. So, it basically takes at least 1 week to make 1 transaction with this card (from #CapitalOne)… 🤔 I would close the card but apparently that reduces your credit score 🤣 (and also I need it to rent a car in Canada 🙄) 🤷
Whelp. Grant submitted. Probably, a modest waste of time, since the earlier edition was recommended for funding** (if funds are available). But I couldn't risk not going in this round. Finger's crossed that this one is good enough to be recommended for funding immediately with no budget cut.
Because seriously, I can't see continuing this project on the same >50K less than modular that I've had the last two grants.
Mr. Crow says "good morning" so mini #CrowUpdate :
Both Mr. and Ms. Crow have been extremely friendly this morning (I'm working from home today) they approached me closer than before (They didn't even fly away when I exited the house and they happened to be near the door.) Maybe the last remnant of fear they had about me vanished when I helped them chase the cat in the park two days ago?
Baby is still hanging out in the nest, I caught a glimpse of it.
