Had a play with TrueNAS. Easy to set the basics up. However, it's a little buggy, installing my own "apps" would be a ballache, and it won't let me use the 512Gb boot drive for storage the way I want.

Think I'll just pave it over and go with Ubuntu again. It supports ZFS+LUKS in the setup now which will save some effort.

Wondering if the MiniPC I got for NASv4 is broken or junk :/

I’m getting the same USB errors with this second external M2 enclosure as the first, but both work perfectly well on other machines.

Can’t get Windows installed on it either due to missing drivers.

The box can read flash drives all right though.

@glc I unplugged some USB things, reset the RAID on the enclosure, and it started working. I think the box's USB is a bit marginal? The enclosure has its own power supply so I dunno.

TueNAS is happy so far setting up a ZFS RAID1 and some shares. I'll try copying a load of data over later on.

Just watched the finale of Discovery..
It got to the end of the episode, and I checked.. .. Still 20 minutes left. Oh god, here comes the miserably dull crap.. For 20 whole entire minutes.

@Jayenkai STD lost me really not long after they went to the future. Far too much talking about how the current Space Problem makes them /feel/ rather than Starfleeting it, for my liking. I'm sure it goes down well with many, but SNW is more my speed.
