Back from the hospital, where I spent all day at the ER. Had several xrays done, which confirmed that I broke my wrist. They put my arm in a cast and a sling, then told me I needed an operation to put metal pins in my wrist. Will see orthopedix surgeon on Monday to discuss the operation. Am on antibiotics and painkillers. Just glad to be back home.

Tonight’s is a second attempt at Korean Fried Chicken. I’m experimenting this time - last time it felt that the chicken was actually pretty close to the famous BBQ “olive chicken” (like seen in Goblin). So I’m going to adjust the seasoning and see if I can make it.

Last time the chicken was perfectly juicy and had a great flavour, but needed a little more seasoning and spice to stand alone. Tonight I’m going to add more white pepper and some Sichuan chilli.

It’s good! But it isn’t Olive Chicken. I was afraid I was adding too much Sichuan pepper, but it could do with more chilli. I’ll think about what it needs for my next attempt.

Pretty sure the answer isn’t more Sichuan pepper, only because it has such a distinctive smell and I don’t want it to be overpowering. I need another chilli to add to the mix to get the right amount of heat.

I took a walk this morning and managed half a kilometer, but slipped on a rock, tore my jeans and possibly sprained or fractured my right wrist. Going to the hospital in a while, to see the doctor and get an x-ray.

Oh finally. My mom is able to watch Netflix without it buffering. It's quite odd because the results of the speed test are good but some sites like Shopee won't load (but Lazada loads!).

@pixiecata we’ve noticed variability as well. It’s most likely related to the solar activity, as these geomagnetic storms can play havoc with communications and electrical equipment. Comms companies have probably been very busy while we’ve been watching the lights
