See also traffic and bike lane policy in central Berlin being made by and for people who live outside the ring, in opposition to the people who actually live here, ~20% of whom not being citizens can’t vote. https://www.threads.net/@eorlins/post/C75l6cPgx8U
What’s a good workflow for, “I like this track that’s just come up on my Apple New Music playlist (via the Sonos), and I’d like to check out the band further”? Is it as dumb as making an Apple Note and seeing it at some future point?
That everyone at Humane was high as a kite from huffing their own farts was immediately and blatantly obvious to absolutely everyone from the start, surely? I hope they had fun pissing those hundreds of millions up the wall.
Fucken SO. “Where do I find… [well articulated question, with a definite answer]”. “Closed, we don’t do ‘recommendation questions’ because the answers go out of date too quickly”.
What, you mean like questions whose answers are only relevant to a particular version of a piece of software? Get the fuck out of here.
I think I may just have found the hardware bug in the Technocolour Dreamcoat v3 (beta!) that was making it flake out and buggered up my fun on the weekend. But if I have, that means I’m golden for Nation of Gondwana in a month :)
When I heard how shit the new Sonos app was, I stopped automatic updates on my phone. But the old app’s performance has tanked too. Buttons don’t fucking do anything anymore, at least not quickly. Spinners everywhere.
@ratkins it’s honestly a real fuckin mixed bag. I swear I’ve reset the system before and it got better, reset again and unusable etc. I think some AirPlay 1 vs AirPlay 2 nonsense, and 2.4ghz vs 5ghz shenanigans. fwiw I find it a mixed bag with a HomePod mini too
If you’re on Apple platforms, just use Safari for chrissake. It’s fine, your battery will last longer and you won’t have to deal with any of this shit. https://hachyderm.io/@cyberlyra/112527385868664727
Is there some kind of coordinated messaging going on around “even if you hate him you have to vote for Biden because Trump will destroy democracy” right now? Because I’m seeing a whole lot of it.
“Writing tests is a good use case for AI-powered code assistants” has always sounded wrong to me and I just worked out why: When I TDD I do about 80% of my thinking when writing the tests. Because that’s when you’re narrowing down the exact problem you’re trying to solve and designing the API. I’d much prefer the AI to do the implementation, then mechanical part where I mostly turn my brain off anyway!
