Fellow oldies (okay, mid-40s and up): I assume it's totally normal that your body is just shit are repair as you (read: ME) gets older? I got sun burn about a month ago and I'm still peeling (yeah, it's gross, but it's not like I peeling skin off and slipping it into people's pint glasses or anything…).
That's normal, right? (not the pint glass thing, that's just the way I was raised…CHAOS)
@rem once you get to 50 you get regular emails/text from the NHS that keep asking you to come in and get checks. I just got one today about blood pressure.
But yeah our bodies are not designed to live longer than 40.
This is bit of a stretch ask, and, possibly very vague, but - I've been trying (and struggling) to find potential speakers for #ffconf that can talk on the subject of "how to think critically / being sceptical".
Ideally wanting UK based, but can stretch to Europe.
Finally got around to installing Red Viper on my 3DS - and it's so cool. Never played a VirtualBoy before and I suspect this might be an even better experience.
I've been reading "Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow" (thank you @dletorey for the tip), and I'm really (really) enjoying it - no spoilers please (about 75% through).
But it's giving me an extremely strong desire to MAKE. I really want to make a thing, but first - work, but also - where to start (too many (stupid) ideas).
Still, excellent book, definitely recommend (so long as it doesn't bork it in the last 1/4th)
How much of the internet is down at the moment? Last week it was duckduckgo (via bing), now it's discord, I'm sure there was another key site that was down earlier today too… 🤔
Finally did some blogging (my "2 a month" is really failing lately). Anyway, for tech-free weekenders (good on yer), I wrote about modding some lovely Casio watches: https://remysharp.com/2024/05/25/casio-f91w-modding
