It seems to have leveled off. I'm researching some good air purifiers to buy, including the DIY Corsi-Rosenthal cube. Technically the air inside the house is still better than outside which is hovering at around 200 right now.

@ai6yr Normally we hover around that range unless it's rush hour, then it can get into the 20-30 range because we're in a large metro area with a ton of (sub)urban sprawl. It's not bothering me too much right now though I have a bit of a headache. I went ahead and decided to skip my usual exercises this evening.

@dangillmor So a bit further research has revealed that:

  1. You can read, follow, and click through Lemmy and kbin posts from mastodon, but they appear as regular mastodon posts.

  2. To interact with those threads, you need a lemmy or kbin account, though. So if you see a good thread you want to comment on and have it seen by other other participants of the thread, yeah you need a second account with them

  3. Linking accounts is possible through the usual means: via user profiles.

@dangillmor So I found this from kbin, one of the reddit alternatives, and it says:

"It can communicate with many other ActivityPub services, including Mastodon, Lemmy, Pleroma, Peertube. The initiative aims to promote a free and open internet."

So you can interact with kbin posts from your mastodon account.

So something that occurred to me the other day is that the wave of new users from reddit to mastodon and the fediverse at-large is going to be a lot different compared to the Twitter migration(s).

Reddit's user base is generally more technically savvy than Twitter's. You're not going to see as many complaints about how hard it is to pick a server, or how federated networks are too difficult to understand.

I think that may be why reddit might be more screwed than Twitter.
