Something I really loved that Scottee of the Wonkee Club talked about in this month's practice is that in yoga, the practice of Ahimsa (non-violence) includes not pushing your body too far during your yoga practice.

I came across this quote from Hilary Kinavey "Am I doing this TO my body or am I doing this WITH my body?" and I think that's an important question to ask.

This journey of strengthening my body (and mind) is going to cause some pain. But I don't have to be violent.

Unfollowed a recipe/food blogger on insta that I'd been enjoying because they prominently featured an HP mug on their latest reel.

/sigh

It's 2024... ignorance is no excuse at this point. And coming from a white cis dude it just feels really intentional to feature the mug in the video. Like a dog whistle, except we can all hear it.

So fun side effect of my dog being on pain med drugs...

He's forgotten that he's an anxious little bean!

I had to go back to the vet today for a bandage change and was talking with the tech (a really lovely trans woman :D) She mentioned that they actual prescribe low doses of this med to dogs with anxiety so it's not surprising it helped him with that!

You know what I want?

A line of really sexy and supportive yoga gear for fat folx.

Stuff like Fabletics or Fenty. Both have some larger sizes, mostly in bras. But not a lot in like, cute crop hoodies, or pants.

I caved and called the vet. He's out of surgery and seems to be doing well. They want to monitor for another hour just in case. So I'll be picking him up at 3:30.

I hope he's not in too much pain <3

It's funny, after partaking in two very chill yoga classes led by Scottee of the wonkee club at the weekend, I'm REALLY nervous to take the beginner's class by his friend Lucy B this morning.

Maybe it's because I didn't have time to psych myself out - I heard about the sessions the day I took them. This one, I signed up for weeks ago.

Going to conquer the brain weasels and do it anyways!

I did not want to show up on the mat this morning. I was achey, I did not sleep well, bloated and sore from hormones (weeee).

But I'd made a promise to myself when I signed up for this that I was going to do it every damn week unless I was like, deathly ill.

Some gentle butt-kicking as I start this new chapter of my life. Doing hard things.

How can I explain to someone that making their webpage harder to skim, in order to force people to read it thoroughly, will have the opposite effect?

@dyani For real. I will absolutely check out if a page is just walls of text requiring me to read thoroughly. Especially if not all of it is the info I need. I want to be able to skim to find the thing, then read deeper if needed.

@ahermitforhire I finally told the program manager at the barn, "I hate zoom meetings, they're really difficult for me. Let me know what day works for you and I can be at the barn and we can have the meeting on the patio. Nothing that's on the agenda is super pressing."

That's about as close as I get... lol
