Db0 admins can't stand hate towards big tech

So I saw a meme about piracy on reddit (apparently a tankie HQ) and I wanted to share it on the biggest piracy instance on the fediverse, with good intentions I post, it gets some replies, but the funny thing is I can’t reply as the post has been removed by the admins of that instance.

I couldn’t care less, it’s just a low-quality meme, in fact I’m amused more than I’m sad. I hope you all can share my amusement at the fact that apparently all it takes nowadays to be called a tankie is to be against big tech and to post from a mainstream instance.

The meme in question, nothing “tankie” about it as far as I can tell.

We have nothing against anti-corporate sentiment, in fact that’s our whole jam. But this meme makes a false equivalence that living in a ‘privileged first world country’ means you must be a pro-corporate lapdog and anti-piracy. That’s essentially an [inaccurate] political statement, not a piracy-related one. That’s why it was removed.

Arcturus,

Disappointing to see that a bad faith user like this is an admin here…

Arelin,

Lmfao I didn’t know dbzer0 allowed libs

“Anarchist” instance my ass

Sagittarii,

Yet more proof that being “anti-tankie” or whatever just means being a shitlib

The post was removed as irrelevant to piracy, I agree there’s nothing tankie about it though. For the record I personally agree with the meme sentiment.
