CosmicTurtle0,

Omg. I thought I was the only one that heard that!

Even on Taylor’s Version, it still sounds like “Starbucks Lovers”.

Anyone have luck with a hair growth *inhibitor*? Especially my fellow gentledudes who could be mistaken for sasquatch after skipping a day of shaving.

I’ve heard of things like Nair that make it fall out… if that was a one-and-done solution I’d be all for it, but I’m hoping for something that slows or stops it from growing....

CosmicTurtle0,

I’ve moved from waxing to epilating. I have to do it a bit more frequently but very little mess.

CosmicTurtle0,

You can separate bull semen? I don’t want to Google this. How is this done?

CosmicTurtle0,

Iirc cases where the central complaint is AI, ML, or other black box technology, the company in question was never held responsible because “We don’t know how it works”. The AI surge we’re seeing now is likely a consequence of those decisions and the crypto crash.

I’d love CVS try to push a lawsuit though.

I’m 100% torrents if I need it. Fmovies or other sites seem to have the majority of what I want to watch.

Is there a guide on how to use usenet? What does it offer that torrents does not? Is it nitch stuff?

CosmicTurtle0,

Because the guys threatening to shoot up “leftys” are the same ones who would be doing the arresting.

You can’t arrest yourself.

CosmicTurtle0,

We need the Satanic Temple to unironically demand Satan worship classes.

CosmicTurtle0,

Does it have stow-and-go seating? Because right now, he needs room for all the guilty verdicts but there’s a hope and possibility of having co-conspiraters being in prison with him.

CosmicTurtle0,

At that point, might be better to hand-file your return. In many of these programs they offer you the ability to print and mail your return.

Your refund takes longer of course.

CosmicTurtle0,

The problem is that given all of the data breaches, anyone can use your social security number, address, etc. and file a return on your behalf.

In theory, that’s what ID.me is preventing.

But if your wallet gets stolen, good luck.

CosmicTurtle0,

I sort of want every company imaginable to be marked as “extremely woke”. Get the alt right out of the marketplace. Let them create secondary and underground stores.

CosmicTurtle0,

That’s the thing I don’t get. These “strongmen” are fucking cry babies.

Like the media darling Kyle Rittenhouse. Fucking cries while he’s on the stand.

Beer pong Brett Kavanaugh fucking crying on national TV from questioning.

Trump, literally, any day every day about how he’s some sort of victim.

How the alt right sees these men as the paragons of strength and leadership is beyond me.

'Confused' Judge Cannon needed concept explained 'slowly' to her in court by lawyers: NYT (www.rawstory.com)

As part of an analysis of how U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida Judge Aileen Cannon, reports from her courtroom show a judge who is both “prickly” and" insecure" and often has trouble understanding what lawyers from both sides try to explain to her....

CosmicTurtle0,

In a normal court, the justices are often held in high regard, whereby whomever appointed them is hardly even a factoid.

The problem is that with Trump, he’s known for quid pro quo as well as just not even knowing the person. Odds are good that Bannon slipped her name to Trump and suddenly she’s “the most brilliant legal mind the nation has ever known. Just brilliant. Very smart.”

Besides being nominated by Trump, I’m not sure if the prosecutors had any standing to have her recused.

PayPal will use your purchase information and shopping patterns to sell targeted ads (www.theverge.com)

“If you’re someone who’s buying products on the web, we know who is buying the products where, and we can leverage the data,” Grether said in a statement to the WSJ. He also said that PayPal will receive shopping data from customers using its credit card in stores....

CosmicTurtle0,

Is it just me or are cheques still the best, cheapest, most secure, and generally universal way to send money from one person to another?

I’ve been thinking about this a lot the past few weeks.

  • Assuming all parties have a bank account, you normally can get checks for free or some nominal amount.
  • Checks can be deposited via a bank’s mobile app.
  • They don’t require you to download a separate app.
  • You can stop a check by calling your bank
  • Since your money doesn’t leave the bank, it’s FDIC insured

Yes I know that the MIRC line isn’t secured but your account is still protected by the bank for any fraud. You don’t get those same protections from venmo or cashapp.

The closest I’ve seen is zelle but not every bank supports it.

Every bank supports depositing in a check.

CosmicTurtle0,

Though, TBF, what better jury of your peers than someone who also commits crimes?

CosmicTurtle0,

LPT: For faucets like this (or if you just want running water to wash something) get a paper towel. Wet it under the water and then put it over the sensor.

Toilet paper also works but it’s messier.

CosmicTurtle0,

The only thing a drag show with guns would do is have conservatives frothing at the mouth saying that only Christian white men can be trusted with guns and laws would soon follow.

You don’t see gun manufacturers participating in Pride month.

They know their customers.

My friend didn't have a great experience with Linux

I have been daily driving Linux for over two years now and I have switched distros many times. So, when my friend bought a new laptop, I convinced him to install Linux Mint on it. I asked him if he wanted to dual boot, he said no because it would fill up all his storage. We installed Linux Mint. The other day, he wanted to play...

CosmicTurtle0,

This right here. I know lemmy is all “LINUX IS FOR EVERYONE!” But it isn’t.

I know this would go against Google’s self interest but they are best poised to make Linux mainstream. Chrome OS can play android games natively. But it’s all close source.

It wouldn’t take much to make the ecosystem for general Linux. I don’t know if the other android-based OSes are working on this but anything we can do to push gaming into Linux would help it to become a better everyday OS

CosmicTurtle0,

You normally pay an annual fee to keep your LLC registered.

CosmicTurtle0,

Car manufacturers and oil producers have a vested interest in making bikes, ev bikes in particular, illegal.

Basically the same playbook that Henry Ford used to make cities less walkable.

CosmicTurtle0,

It’s a weird timeline where we rather have someone who is just embezzling than actually causing harm.

At least he was stimulating the economy, among other things.

CosmicTurtle0,

The crazy and ironic thing is that if this product was properly marketed, they could actually sell a shit ton of these to “Christians” like MGT and a number in the alt-right.

All of the commenters and reviewers are the same people that if this was magic blessed by some Christian pastor and actively marketed towards them, they’d buy it in a heartbeat, not because they believed it worked, but because they’d want to support a Christian.

CosmicTurtle0,

It’s legal because ISPs wrote the laws.
