This is a little hard to write, but sadly, I'll be missing PyCon US this year. Long story short: I hurt my knee. Still on crutches. Surgery likely...

I came close to hopping (literally) on a plane and heading out anyway, but it's probably not the wisest choice.

For those of you heading out, enjoy the conference, meet someone new, volunteer, and have fun!

I've been using https://gitmoji.dev/ (and integration into PyCharm) for the last few months and honestly I love it!

I'm in the minority of "loving it" at work, but whatever. Still gonna use it where I can.

Does anyone else really struggle getting Docker Desktop on mac to actually function? I have to hunt down the processes and kill it about once a week because it just freezes. Won't restart, won't close, won't respond, nothing.

I hate this shit.

@webology nope, literally just have it installed so that I can use the command line. But then eventually the command line stops working because docker stops responding, and the only way to fix it is to restart docker desktop, and then docker desktop freezes and force kill doesn't work so the hunt begins.

Been trying out Obsidian as a replacement for org-mode. The main reason is to have a better sync/mobile story, but holy crap the Obsidian editor is garbage.

I could get on board with the Vim keybinding support, but things like starting a line with "" correctly turns inserts a bullet, but then keeps the "" as part of the text of the bullet. Inserting a Task seems to put the due date in an invalid location to be parsed correctly. Stuff like this is everywhere.
