Finally, I've found my https://xkcd.com/606/ people.

Been thinking of finally making the jump from Sim City 3000 to Sim City 4. It's not that I don't like 3K but the design options for roads and trains start to show their age.

Starburn,

Is it still with buying a PS4 to play TLOU? Is a PS4 worth it if you have never owned one?

I can buy a PS4 local to me for pretty cheap. I do have a decent having PC but my life ATM revolves around kids so I don't get a chance to sit down in the study to play.

I'm thinking if it's in the loungeroom I can at least play it in short bursts.

NightOwl,

PS4 games on the PS5 run a lot better and output a higher resolution for the ones that have been remastered. So that might be the better upfront cost to play PS4 games while having the benefit of forward compatibility with the PS5 games .

But , if the PS4 is really cheap it can be worth the pick up if all you want to play is PS4 games as cheap as possible and higher frames doesn't really matter. Games still look excellent visually on the PS4, and it's more performance where the impact is seen for those who care about that. But, they all offer a solid 30 fps experience.

poopypants205,

I have a pc and bought an Xbox series S. The XBOX was so that I can play COD with my brother in law. Everyone was talking how awesome game pass is, but it was underwhelming to me. Lots of good games, but I ended up scrolling through it like Netflix and never settled on anything.

But I’ve been spending so much time lately on my PS4. I’m working through Spiderman. Next I’m going to revisit God of War 2018 or TLOU…I haven’t decided yet. I think if you can get it for cheap, the single player experiences can’t be beat (well, maybe by a PS5). I love my PS4 and and really enjoying it on my 65” Visio. The graphics look good as hell and the sound is fantastic. I don’t feel like I’m missing anything. Eventually I’ll upgrade to a PS5, but that day isn’t coming for a little while yet.

With regards the “short bursts”. I have two kids and COD is my short burst game. TLOU and the single player games are paced out such that you may need a little bit longer session in terms of sweet spot enjoyment, but YMMV.

Disgaea 1, the start of my new addiction.

As a 'moderate' fan of tactical jrpgs the Disgaea series has always both intrigued and scared me at the same time. Intrigued because of the grind, as you can famously get up to level 9999 (many would say it's a bad thing but I'm weird so I like it), and scared because of how complicated it looked as an outsider to the series....

Cyberpunk’s expansion totally overhauls the original game (www.videogameschronicle.com)

So I think this is a good one for the patient gamers… I actually already played this soon after it came out and still really enjoyed it, although the world felt like it didn’t have any real people in it the city is just fantastic and visually appealing. I imagine this update will transform the game entirely, I’m looking...
