In #StarCitizen land I was able to mine enough material to get a single work order going. It's still buggy ala last night's post, but at least some of the rocks worked today.
Had I known that it was so flaky this patch I never would have rented this Prospector. :nkoFacepalm:
But it is what it is. I'll see if I can get a few refinery jobs going and at least make back the aUEC spent on renting this ship.
...then I'll need a cargo ship, but one step at a time. :blobcatshrug:

Well crud. As much as I want the Hull A maybe I'll aim for the Freelancer (base). It's not terribly more expensive (until the aUEC price hikes in 3.23). It's old, but they're polishing it a bit (internals, doors) for 3.23..
CIG should remove all shortcuts for:
POWER ON/OFF
THRUSTERS ON/OFF
QT ENGINE ON-OFF-JUMP
JUMPGATE ENGINE ON/OFF
And make pilots rely on knowing where the switches for all this are so actually stealing a ship you don't know is not as straightforward as stealing a bicycle.
The #StarCitizen ISC was pretty good, although (via SaltEMike) I'm hearing some rough things about the start map. Kind of hoping for the best there because oof. Pretty disappointed by that and hoping that some of it is improved via Evo feedback. Time will tell.
It's not all bad, he says that setting quantum destinations is easier.
and the new UI for everything else looks /so/ good, IMO.
Okay I bought some cheap pedals to play DCS, Star CItizen and IL-2.
After testing them for 2-3 hours I don't know how I could ever play without them. After the initial learning phase you get so much more control and it feels a lot more immersive.
But yeah the internet is right, pedals is the last piece of hardware you should buy. First of all get a stick and throttle, followed by a headtracker.

I currently use this exact set of thrustmaster devices. The matching throttle and pedals.
I do have the following one on my wishlist since, I read a lot of good reviews about it. But it is to expensive for me right now and I never tried it myself. No clue if there is a big difference in the feeling of it.

I didn't want to sound sarcastic, but on the contrary, I really enjoy when there is lots of players in the tram (where they behave more or less quietly, not zoom around like possesed furbys) and I look forward to the places being crowded and teeming with life.
(the pebble thing was a joke, the planets are big enough to not bump into players if you stray far enough from outposts)

Long time ago, doing VTOL collision avoidance while lowflying.
This was NOT scripted, nor the music added later.
You can see how just before hitting the hillside, the engines start to swivel, until I pull 16G of upwards boost (GSAFE was on, otherwise it would have reached 32G)
I had the idea of using the video clips to show how the game performs in a solo player casual experience. The clips are completely random although stitched together to make some sort of logical sense. If anyone is interested regarding this hardware then I can definitely record better samples.
Decided to do this completely at random. Why not do something with the odd clips I had saved.
It of course ended with the delivery mission being bugged. I'm fairly convinced that they'll never get those to work correctly.
I did bump into an interesting... situation? bug?.. during today's #StarCitizen play. While at outposts (eg; Shubin) I was able to drag entire loot boxes into the local inventory. This includes both the white as well as the red & black boxes.
Should this be possible?
So I now have several such boxes at port, and a red & black box to use in my cargo area.
In this vid I'm looking at the ships as I approach to deliver the mail and don't notice the box on the ground to my left.
I only noticed it in 3rd person before lifting off, but a tractor beam couldn't move it. So I moved my ship over, dropped the cargo bay, lifted the wheels, and reversed onto it to scoop it up.
This worked, but it was only halfway onto the ramp. Here I'm testing the tractor beam & found that it works, so I move onto the grid.
Today's Star Citizen stream involved fighting off a flotilla of pirates on Yela just to find a missing person... and these shots are from some of the quieter moments before and after.
