So I wrote a rest API for a note app to learn the language. The code looks horrible I guess but I learned a lot about rust.

I used rocket to do so, now I just need an frontend properly written with clap or ratatui.

Okay I bought some cheap pedals to play DCS, Star CItizen and IL-2.

After testing them for 2-3 hours I don't know how I could ever play without them. After the initial learning phase you get so much more control and it feels a lot more immersive.

But yeah the internet is right, pedals is the last piece of hardware you should buy. First of all get a stick and throttle, followed by a headtracker.

If this is done take a look at pedals.

Since I do us the same stick I can't compare this to a more expensive setup 😋

I currently use this exact set of thrustmaster devices. The matching throttle and pedals.

I do have the following one on my wishlist since, I read a lot of good reviews about it. But it is to expensive for me right now and I never tried it myself. No clue if there is a big difference in the feeling of it.

I currently try to find a good TUI application to extend my git experience.
I did test the following applications the last months:

Since gitui does not allow commit signing at the moment I can't use it. Tig feels fine with the customization but lazygit is more appealing in my opinion. Both feel really good. What do you use, any recommendations?

It is still super slow and feels limited compared to the old one.

Rules as example are really bad since it allows only a single action of given type. So to label a mail with different labels I need a rule per label instead of a single one in the previous Outlook version.

Devs, imagine you have a player who has never played a WASD game before and they find complicated instructions confusing.

How would present the basic controls to them in the clearest, most useful way in an image format?

This is what I have so far. I like that I have used the physical layout of a keyboard to spatially anchor it but I don't love the chaotic lines as much.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

@upmultimedia If you build the game on your own, why not create a short tutorial showing the buttons to press on screen. The player then needs to walk through some checkpoints to complete the tutorial?

Mussten sehr lachen das wir mittlerweile 8 Uhr als ausschlafen bezeichnen. Unsere Kinderlosen Freunde stehen teilweise am Wochenende nicht vor 10 Uhr auf, was früher für uns auch vollkommen normal war.

Ich vermisse die Zeit kein bisschen, jeder Moment mit unserem kleinen ist so unvergesslich.

When I was a young Commodore-era game developer, C (without the ++ or # back then) was for wimps, and hardcore coders used Assembly, ditching the OS to have maximum available hardware resources. 👴

@metin So I need to learn GDScript, damn 😂

Using c# right now and I think it's more difficult than using GDScript since all tutorials or example scripts are written in GDScript.

I always need to translate them, making errors while doing so.

That's a really good argument. But if I watch tutorials and compare the GDScript code with the c# one it is super noticeable that you should use GDScript. Much less code to achieve the same result.

Wie angenehm es ist der KiApraxis einfach eine Mail mit der Frage und Fotos schicken zu können, und dann im kurzen Rückruf zu erfahren, was zu tun ist.

Effektiv gesehen ca. 3 Minuten Arbeit, und so immens viel mehr Entlastung für die ganze Familie.
