Basically the title. I would love to get at least a basic working knowledge of repairs and alterations, but I have no experience whatsoever. A “questions that don’t deserve their own post” or “starting resources” thing would be very helpful. Thank you!

I have this expensive*) suit which is a bit too baggy. I managed to slim down the trousers a bit and now they fit like a glove. But after watching countless videos about altering jackets, I decided to hand it to a tailor. No way I would to touch that....

The small rip was patched with gear repair tape, then sewn over. The larger rip will probably be my next project… any recommendations to make sure it holds?...

This is my version of the layout done by Tula Pink. Hers was in a charcoal background. I did this quilt in 2019 in a similar colorway, so chose this white background for Pythia time instead. I loved her floating block design which kept me going with block sets that were frankly boring compared to others who had colorful...

Felt like I was battling the machine most of the time, but made it through! Sewn completely on my (uncooperative but cherished) treadle Singer 66.

I made this as a gift. This was my first attempt at making this pattern and my first Papercut Pattern outfit. It turned out well! I would consider myself an advanced beginner. The directions included were relatively easy to follow....

I’ve made this so many times and it never disappoints. Tshirts are also great for beginner sewers or people who haven’t sewn with knit before.
