@mcpaccard @pluralistic Jeez.

The village where I live is popular with delivery drivers because there is a temporary parking bay on the main road, right next to the public loo and you can be in and out inside a minute including hand washing.

@mcpaccard @pluralistic @CassandraZeroCovid Since the product doesn’t seem to include refillable pump dispensers; am I missing something here that I shouldn’t be, or am I missing a very crude joke?

@Gorfram @mcpaccard @pluralistic @CassandraZeroCovid the joke is that Amazon's automatic category change did not give a f whether there was any food or drink license. It bypassed a legal requirement automagically.

@CassandraZeroCovid @pluralistic Yup. Fascinatingly dystopian.

I'm guessing it's not streaming on Prime?

Chirael,

@mcpaccard @pluralistic every business dreams and schemes of being a monopoly for the pricing power it gives them, but then once they attain it, they realize they can squeeze more profit out not just by raising prices, but also lowering the quality of their products and going to extreme lengths to squeeze more “productivity” out of workers. Every new business or small player talks about how important competition is, until they wind up on top. Then they do everything they can to crush it (including lobbying and regulatory capture, felony contempt of business model, etc.). Their ladder-pulling (concentration of industry players to monopolies or oligopolies in every category) has done great harm to society. So many of the social and political factions fighting against each other don’t seem to realize that much of their current ills stem from this, which goes back to the 70s, 80s and 90s through today.
