HAMAS would not exist if Zionism did not exist. Palestinians were minding their own business when all of a sudden in came the Europeans to take everything. Just like in the 1500’s in America. Hamas tactics are what they are, but they are a Resistance movement. The western world has classified them as terrorists, the Israeli government isn’t? That’s where my HAMAS= terrorism idea is flushed down the toilet.
I am generally pro-Palestinian, so I get your point here. But if we are being fair thats not true, even during the ottomon empire Jews and Palestinians have been fighting in the area.
These weren't occupiers at that time, these were jews who were citizens of the region and even recognized by Palestinians as citizens. This was at that time it would have been a civil war if you can call it a war at all (more like periodic massacres). But it was Jewish Palestinians against Muslim Palestinians at this time.
Which is exactly I just said in my last post... thats the point... I'm confused, why are you repeating what I just said in a tone like it is disagreeing with me?
That is absolutely BS, for the vast majority of history Arab Jews were not persecuted by Muslims. In fact, the Islamic government that treated Jews the worst was Al-Andalus, ie Spain; Rambam & Avraham Maimuni both wrote highly about Islamic government and the freedom afforded to Jews under Ayyubid rule. Arab Jews were not a singled out minority before Zionists started wreaking hell on MENA.
As historian Avi Shlaim shows, the Mossad bombed synagogues throughout the Middle East in the early 50s to stage antisemitism and induce Arab Jews to flee from their homelands. Zionism has endangered the lives of Jews in the Middle East more than any other force; just take a look at recent invocations of the Hannibal doctrine.
> That is absolutely BS, for the vast majority of history Arab Jews
I said nothing of the sort, I did not speak about "all of history". I very specifically stated their hostilities went back to Ottomon times long before the Europeans came. That is not the same as saying all of history.
Your lead in sentence is so hyperbolic I will not read the rest.
The Ottoman Empire did not single us out either, and was even considered a refuge for Jews fleeing pogroms in Europe. Whenever there were forced conversion campaigns, which were a common experience for all religious minorities all over the world at that time, they were rarely directed particularly at Jews. Overall, the Ottoman Empire was tolerant of Judaism.

Are you saying that Jews that lived in Palestine were no Palestinian? I didn’t say “Muslims” were minding their owns business…. I said “Palestinians”, that includes everybody, even Christians. It just so happens that the Jews were spared the hostile takeover (obviously) while the rest were kicked out, killed, or isolated.
Fair rebuttal., though blaming Europeans over a war between two groups that long preceded Europe's intervention and were ultimately acted out Jews and arabs is still a bad take. Not to say that it is entirely wrong, it isnt, Europe, along with the rest of the UN, certainly made things worse. They also weren't the actors.
@freemo@nathaliaassaad@RememberUsAlways@DrALJONES@palestine
2 groups? I think you need to read more about the history of this conflict. Palestine was inhabited since the 12th century by Muslims (90%), Jews (5%)and Christians (5%). You could say that today’s Muslims are the descendants of Jews that never left and converted to Christianity then to Islam. Current problem starts with the British Mandate Era, IMO to get rid of European Jews
@freemo@nathaliaassaad@RememberUsAlways@DrALJONES@palestine
They project their own antisemitism onto others, but the reality is that the biggest antisemites are the Europeans and Americans, not Arab Muslims. What they reject is the way Israeli Jews are going about their “return”. If things had been done differently Arabs in general including Christians wouldn’t hate Jews. Israelis have been nightmare neighbors. Who could be happy?
I just spent 2 years there going around pallestine and Israel witht he express purpose of learning things first hand... not sure what other research you expect me to be doing....
Bruh I've been active in the movement for over 15 years including a boots on the ground participant in the International Solidarity Movement, and have no sympathy for zionism whatsoever, but thats an antisemitic meme, playing on the trope that jews have massive noses. Keep that trash out of the solidarity movement, it mixes facts that are points of actual Palestinian advocacy (that Israel deploys an online propaganda army, ie hasbara) with the antisemitic trope that jews have giant noses, which either serves to normalize antisemitism or make Palestine supporters appear antisemitic, and JDL has attempted to subvert us with the latter for ages so I dont readily believe when faceless accounts post this stuff.
I don't particularly care for moralizers, but the important thing to consider is not what you meant, but the unintentional consequences that images like this can cause.
Reactionary, fascistic anti-semites can and will co-opt images like this to redirect violence towards all Jewish people, since appearance can be generalized to all of them, and essentializes Jewish people and inherently unlikeable. This becomes harmful, counterproductive to the cause of exposing Zionists as white supremacist fascistic, colonialists because then we perpetuate their narratives elsewhere, which they'll use to target anti-zionists. And while YOU may know perfectly well what you intended, the public may pick up on impressions or habits that none of us want.
And yeah, the Zionists deserve all the ridicule, harm, and violence any Nazi or fascist like them deserves, but let's be aware of when we may be potentially incurring friendly fire.
yeah fucken seriously. that image is racist af. it won't hurt the IDF or Netanyahu, Zionists use it as an excuse for their behaviour. but it sure will hurt all of the anti-Zionist Jews who are a necessary component for Palestinian justice.
@nathaliaassaad
Whoa. This is why I don't have any sympathy for keyboard warriors who are as nasty and disgusting as those MAGAts in US or hasbara army goons.
With friends like you, no wonder palestinians have to suffer an unimaginable life under occupation and cornered in a hell hole guarded by Egypt and Israel @crashglasshouses@DrALJONES@palestine@freemo
@crashglasshouses
Honestly, the more I observe people reacting to this Genocide, the more I understand why Palestinians can never have a home.
With Hamas being the only representative of people in Gaza and people like you as the defenders of palestinians, Israel can enjoy many more decades of criminal actions by repeating mass murder of palestinians like they did in Deir-Yaain, Tall'e-Za'tar, Sabra, Chatila and many times in Gaza.
@faab64@crashglasshouses@DrALJONES@nathaliaassaad@palestine@freemo
Yes, Farhad. Seriously. Very seriously.
Take that stupid meme down.
You’re no good to the pro-Palestine solidarity movement , you hurt it.
In fact, you make me think you are here to sabotage and are part of the Israeli propaganda machine, the only logical explanation for your actions.
@freemo@nathaliaassaad@RememberUsAlways@DrALJONES@palestine Europe definitely WERE the actors. European and American (I think?) zionist colonisation organisations kickstarted the zionist movement, and the European powers supported Israel's creation and colonisation under the Mandate (though it is to be noted, Zionist militant groups fought the British Empire, sometimes even siding with Nazi puppet France in the Second World War)
Nope, not forgetting it at all. Hostilities being acted out by Arabs and Jews in the region is not negated by there being legitimate European missteps as well.
@nathaliaassaad@RememberUsAlways@DrALJONES@palestine
👏👏👏👏👍👍👍
The real terrorists are zionists, the criminal settlers in West Bank and their evil terrorist force IDF. Hamas was created and financed by far right zionists as a way to undermine a 2 state solution.
