@aral I get the dilemma that US progressive and progressive-adjacent voters are in. But surely there has to be some consequence for actively supporting the mass slaughter of civilians (which may turn out to be ruled to be a genocide)? If there is no consequence then there's nothing to stop the next Democratic president from supporting it. But if Biden does lose because of this then
hopefully it will give the next guy pause before going down the same road again (maybe).

@rmischook Problem is, if Biden loses, there might not be (a democratically-elected) “next guy”. But yes, there must be consequences to supporting genocide. The question is, who has the power to enforce them on the guy who controls the world’s most powerful military?

@aral They're not wrong, though. Do I wish the US had a viable third-party option? FUCK YES.

Is that my political reality? Nope.

Does abstaining from voting for Biden as a result actually work against my own political goals and create more harm for the most vulnerable here? Absolutely.

The Democrats suck. They're also the best we've got right now.
