As he sat w/some of the country’s top #oil execs at his Mar-a-Lago Club last month, one exec complained how they continued to face burdensome #environmental#regulations despite spending $400M to lobby the #Biden admin…
#Trump’s response stunned several of the executives in the room overlooking the ocean: You all are wealthy enough, he said, that you should raise $1B to return me to the White House. At the dinner, he vowed to immediately reverse dozens of President #Biden’s #environmental rules & policies & stop new ones from being enacted, acc/to people w/knowledge of the meeting…
Giving $1 billion would be a “deal,” Trump said, because of the taxation & regulation they would avoid thanks to him….
#Trump’s remarkably blunt & transactional pitch reveals how he is targeting the #oil industry to finance his reelection bid. At the same time, he has turned to the industry to help shape his #environmental agenda for a second term, including rollbacks of some of #Biden’s signature achievements on #CleanEnergy & #EVs.
“The #US weapons ‘pause’ doesn't apply to the $26 Billion in ADDITIONAL #Israel ‘aid’ passed by US #Congress, along with $827 million MORE in weapons...
And the #Biden admin made SURE Israel had enough munitions for a #Rafah invasion.
I’ve said this before but apparently it hasn’t sunk in but if you say “Biden has lost my vote”, don’t expect anyone to listen to you or be surprised he’s not out gunning for it. The election is 6 months out. If there’s no way you’re voting for him, nobody fucking cares what you want.
You can enjoy likely a 7-2 or 8-1 conservative SCOTUS that will be grinding down our rights for the next generation or three. Enjoy that.
@TonyStark I just can't with all the people doing variations of "Biden just lost the election" and "Biden just lost my vote" especially among my Jewish community.
Anyone who says they're not going to vote for him for this or that policy decision is a nihilist JUST LIKE the far-left protesters. #Biden
"Israel is fighting a just and necessary war," asserted U.S. Senator from Arkansas, #TomCotton, in support of Israel continuing its genocide in Gaza.
The Senator also suggested that "the House has no choice but to impeach #Biden over delayed Israel aid." This highlights the extent to which U.S. senators supported by #AIPAC funding are willing to go to ensure Israel remains armed with U.S. weaponry.
Following the #Biden administration's announcement that the US will withhold large bombs and artillery shells if Israel moves into a full invasion of Rafah, #Netanyahu asserted Israel's readiness to proceed independently into the crowded city.
“If we have to stand alone, we will stand alone. If we need to, we will fight with our fingernails,” declared Netanyahu in a video statement.
Israel has reached out to US Senators to condemn Biden's decision and demand the immediate reinstatement of #weapons to Israel, with some senators even calling for Biden's impeachment over this move.
When I joined the #fediverse via my own Mastodon instance back in 2018 (and with an identi.ca, status.net, pump.io history going far back), I never thought of it as a Twitter, Facebook etc alternative. I saw it as a new planet. A fresh approach to build a real social network. I still look at it that way. I want to explore new possibilities. Try new things. Escape the gravity well of the "old", centralised networks. Find a better orbit. That is why I block threads.net on my instance. #justsayin

#justsayin I’m so glad that #mastodon.social does not block threads.net. It allows me to see #Biden posts directly. A “real social network” should not exclude parts of society that want in. No one who wants to “explore new possibilities” should shut others out
