hi Mastodon!, this is a call for #translation#assistance or #trade. we are putting together a little advertising mailer to try and find new customers in #Ottawa, #english/#french billingual this time, see the picture. i write French poorly and don't trust my translation abilities for this. If there is an option to use any Ottawa valley colloquial terms or vocab that is preferred. I'm looking for good translations for the phrases:

"Buy the pound" (pun intended, but not sure if it can translate)

bonus phrases are the name Lainey's Luck and "Thrift by the pound' assuming the double entendre is impractical, just the used clothes meaning of the word thrift. bonus because we don't think it is possible to make a good translation without losing our brand identity, but I am willing to try.

"Buy the pound" - Prix au poids means "price by weight" but this kind of is similar to the way "pris du poids" (gain weight) sounds so is kind of punny. Less punnily, prix à la livre is literally "price by the pound"
