Was rewatching Iron Man yesterday (doing a MCU rewatch) and thinking why couldn't we have had in the Disney Star Wars era a major cinematic event like what they did from Iron Man to Endgame / Infinity War.
Sadly, they couldn't even plan out and have foresight for the Sequel Trilogy and much less actually bring a Star Wars film to theaters since Episode IX without firing directors or them jumping ship🤔 🧐 😞.
@waarismijnhoofd I was meaning they planned all the Marvel movies in different phases introducing characters and plot points as they went all to culminate with the mega event 10 years later in Endgame / Infinity War. They could have done something similar with Star Wars and people were saying they were going to try. But they couldn't even properly lead 3 movies in a trilogy.

Yes agree with your observation about Star Wars 😏 and marvel did a much better job on that aspect
But vaguely remember there was a scene in endgame or Infinity war where something that happened in Iron Man 1 10 years earlier finally made sense. Trying to think what that was.
@rm4 The Force Awakens was a great Star Wars film that I enjoyed a lot but it's such a shame that the sequel was handed off to a new director and writer to continue without an overall plan. I think it really hurt the following two films.
Now it looks like Rogue Squadron won't happen and what was wrong with Lord and Miller's Solo and why was it rushed out just a few months after The Last Jedi? Why not put it in the empty Christmas spot like the previous three films? (Ep XII, Rogue One, Ep XIII)
@rm4 Solo gets a lot of stick but I really like it, I have it on 4K! But despite being a Star Wars fan, I can't bring myself to complete the physical media collection on Blu-ray and I found a copy of The Last Jedi for 50p!!
@UKFilmNerd There are some plot points that are picked up in the War Of The Bounty Hunters event series (omnibus) that continue some of the underworld type stuff seen in Solo
@rm4@UKFilmNerd I also enjoyed TFA the most and it left me excited for the next two films. Rise of Skywalker was such a let down :(
It boggles my mind that companies with so much money and access to so much talent and rights to beloved IPs can fumble so badly. Bottomless wealth but creatively bankrupt. It really felt like Rey didn't get her own story in the slightest, even in the context of a rhyming Skywalker saga. She got hand-me-down everything. Ship, lightsaber, lineage, last name, plot.
@rm4 there’s actually a really good theory that Palpatine knew about the potential of invasion from the Grysk, who hail from the Unknown Regions, and was building the army and uniting the galaxy to withstand the coming war. He needed his Death Star and the secret Exegol army to defend the galaxy.
