nice to see a Segrelles cover! #Segrelles would go on to become famous in Europe with his European-style comic books (bande dessinees) The Mercenary. His trade were actual oil paintings, and in later years he would switch to computers.

I used to not like his books Mercenary that much either, because of the somewhat wooden characters, the lack of dynamics. But recently have started appreciating the books more because of the great landscapes and atmosphere, and some great storylines.
What is it you don’t appreciate? And is that based on book covers, or have you had the chance to read the mercenary comics?
(And if you still follow Aral Balkan, you probably don't want to follow me. Cause if you are OK with his antisemitism and Holocaust relativism I wonder where our common base could ever be)

That’s got nothing to do with antisemitism at all. He acknowledges the WW2 genocide and calls what’s happening in Gaza right now also genocide. Shame on you for suggesting otherwise.

Yes I really like all 3 pieces.
I didn’t only refer to the guy being inspired by Arzak, all of the three drawing look very much like Moebius, the one of the girl especially.
That’s meant as a compliment.

You’re probably right, as a BD fan I hope you are. I.m.o. Moebius is one of the greatest artists of the 20th century and I hope he gets the respect he deserves, and his art will live on.

I grew up in a suburb, and right in front of our house was a field of grass surrounded by houses. Traffic was light, the houses were new so owned by young families (yes, it was so long ago that young families could afford a house) and so there were lots of kids always about outside. Across from us lived a boy my age who was also in my class, and I played with him a lot -- we were good friends. Eating lunch at each others' houses, etc. 1/

Tomorrow, The Dutch will have 12 hours with a negative (day ahead) electricity price, and a couple of hours with a price equal to zero.
This is caused by a high production of wind energy in NW-Europe, combined with a relative low ('Sunday') power demand.
Although to a lesser extend, neighbouring countries witness as well a significant number of hours with negative power prices.
I expect, this phenomenon will increase significantly in coming years. Agree?

Was rewatching Iron Man yesterday (doing a MCU rewatch) and thinking why couldn't we have had in the Disney Star Wars era a major cinematic event like what they did from Iron Man to Endgame / Infinity War.
Sadly, they couldn't even plan out and have foresight for the Sequel Trilogy and much less actually bring a Star Wars film to theaters since Episode IX without firing directors or them jumping ship🤔 🧐 😞.

Yes agree with your observation about Star Wars 😏 and marvel did a much better job on that aspect
But vaguely remember there was a scene in endgame or Infinity war where something that happened in Iron Man 1 10 years earlier finally made sense. Trying to think what that was.
