TIL: perfume is considered a "hazardous material" by the USPS. (I mean, I always thought the same in general, but you can't mail it without special packaging/declaration/etc.) #perfume#postage#USPS
@ai6yr Got pulled out of security on an international flight for perfume once. The bottle was a touch leaky and it set off their alarms. So, yeah, the alcohol levels, potent fragrance, atmospherics…?
@wendinoakland@ai6yr The only stuff of Estée's I can still tolerate is White Linen, perhaps the subtlest of her perfumes. When I was working in an office tower, I once said in the elevator "Is someone in here wearing White Linen?" I got a bemused "Yeah, me!" from the back corner.
For airport security, it was probably just the alcohol fumes, not a value judgment on the fragrance. 😂
@wendinoakland@ColesStreetPothole I'm now so sensitive to smells I could probably follow people all the way home based on their perfume/cologne trails when they go on a walk around the neighborhood. Bloodhounds have it easy, LOL, people leave such strong scent tracks....
