Well, I’m now beyond frustrated with Apple. Was working with Apple Loops in Logic this morning, went to use the search feature, picked a filter and now all the loops are totally gone. I reindexed them, nothing; reinstalled & reindexed them, nothing. Deleted the preference file, rebooted, nothing. Lost all my settings when I deleted the preferences too. So looking like I need to delete anything Logic related for preferences & logs the reinstall Logic. 🤬

Just confirmed it's a project level issue. I opened a new empty project and all the loops are there. Now I have to figure out what happened to the project that made them all disappear.

@GuitarSith I suspect that's going to be a picky and unrewarding process. Still, it would be good to know.

Couldn't see anything in the project settings options at all that looked remotely like it would work. So decided to try importing the project settings from an earlier version of the project and that worked. I'm sure I'm going to find some stuff has messed up, but at least I've got the loops back. 😮‍💨

@GuitarSith @elsemusic I’m so glad they reappeared! Logic can be SO FUSSY!!!

I’ve been getting a “Logic didn’t close properly” error for a couple days, again it’s just this project. So I guess something in the project has gotten corrupted somehow. It’s nearly 6Gb now, lots of audio with lots of take lanes. I think I’m just going to export everything and bring it back in a new project. Setting all the plugins and automation again will be tedious, but I’d rather be safe than lose everything down the road.

@GuitarSith @elsemusic I have a project that I think got corrupted. I might have to just cut the loss but I figured it was probably an error on my end 🤣

The .logicx file is actually a whole bunch of files packed into a folder that looks like a file. All of the assets that you’ve selected in the advanced settings options are then included in it. You can opt to not use the single file & instead keep all the assets as individual files, but I’ve never done this. If you do it might be easier to find the actual asset that’s corrupted & fix it. I’m actually in the process of rebuilding mine now.

@GuitarSith @elsemusic when I feel brave, I’ll give that a try. Thanks Alan :BlobhajfBlobbyHug:

@GuitarSith @ambergrey I had a similarly idiosyncratic issue yesterday in Reaper.

I have a utility mastering project for demos and work in progress; it has some standard plugins, and I can drag a mix into it to quickly deliver a rough output to share and review. Yesterday it started replaying any track I tried mastering as if it was being run through a saturator and pitch shifter.

I couldn't fix it. I had to re-create the project by replicating the structure and plugins from the original.

@elsemusic @GuitarSith that’s so strange! My equipment’s favorite thing is to remove my sustain pedal expression from my native instruments plug in tracking :breathe:
