Absolutely loved this bit of back-story on the "upside down" Apple logo that used to be on every Mac laptop, but got flipped (right side up?) by Steve Jobs.
Great, short read, shared by @gruber a few days ago.
Ernsthaft. 🤦♂️
Marketing at its best.
As per the Beastie Boys, you’ve got to fight for your right to party.
Well, OK.
But you shouldn’t have to fight for your consumer rights… but I did when using Apple Australia’s supposedly “easy” trade-in service for an iPad. It was anything but easy…
(A long read at Gizmodo Australia, because I’m stubborn about these kinds of things. It should not take the kind of fighting I had to do here to get a positive result)
"When a 23-year-old Sam Altman took the stage at Apple Inc.’s annual developer conference in 2008, he gushed about being able to use the company’s new App Store to promote his software, a friend-locating service called Loopt."
That's OpenAI's Sam Altman. He spoke at WWDC in 2008? That's incredible.
And now he's back. 2008 was the year of the App Store (and some brutal NDAs).
@bynkii@davemark I have a hard time not thinking of him being laughed at for the popped collars as his villain origin story. But I guess he was evil before that. 🤷♂️
I'm trying out #Apple Music. I love the UI and how it feels very much like Apple but it still integrates very well with Windows 11's theme. Unfortunately, I miss the multi-device control from #Spotify. I just wanna lie down on my bed while blasting Lady Gaga out of my computer's speaker while also being able to skip to the next song without getting up. Does Apple Music have that?
#Apple#MacBook nerds. Does anyone know how to take a screenshot of an entire site page? I want to take a full screenshot of this copyright class and keep it. But not bit by bit. The entire thing.
I know the #iPhone used to let us do that. Is this still a thing? Please send help, thank you.

This is an unhelpful response in the age of search engine #enshittification which is well documented especially on the Fediverse. Please stop this style of reply.
@davemark well, to be honest we’re talking about 12/14 years old Apple TVs which don’t even use tvOS and don’t have the App Store, and Netflix was a pre installed app.
