@davemark love ours, use it all the time. A lot of really good air fryer recipes out there. Also good for reheating things like French fries we used to end up throwing out.
@davemark I ADORE my Ninja Foodie 5-in-1! It is ALL metal on the inside and mostly on outside, gets VERY hot, includes an actual cast-iron-porcelain-coated-grill for hamburgers, and never...ever smokes!
@davemark they seem to be a fave of people trying to avoid deep frying (people hate handling and storing oil). 90% of the people I know that use them are eating chicken wings and frozen french fries.
@davemark I have a countertop Breville oven that has an "air fryer" mode which seems to be "super convection" mode at a high temperature. I have used it to reheat French fries and to cook frozen items that were breaded/fried, and it is pretty great for those.
Context: My full size oven is old, and takes forever to heat (to the wrong temp), so I use the Breville for most oven things and it's great. I bet air frying veggies would be awesome!
@Verso@davemark Yup I love it. Same reason, no preheat or making the kitchen warm. It’s also easier to get crispy bits without using as much or any oil. I use mine basically every day for sure.
Plus it’s just an extra oven, you can use both at once and make a big meal.
@davemark HUGE fan of my air fryer, do our veggies in it all the time. Casseroles. Steaks. Cakes. Never use my oven for anything anymore. Game changer!
We seemingly use less oil (prevent sticking), doesn't seem to steam them like the oven does, and cooks more evenly (we do split time, shake it, then cook the remaining half).
@davemark energy efficient is the most likely. I have an Anova countertop oven that I love that I use for air fryer recipes as well. I also don't have to work in batches
