I tell every person from Singapore who moves to the US that they should be prepared to hear Americans refer to ‘Kerrygold’ as ‘fancy butter’ since that’s just our supermarket normal butter

Imported American butter might actually be rarer (we get excellent butters from Australia, New Zealand, France, Germany, Japan in our supermarkets)

Since obviously we have.. no / little dairy of our own

I learned this the hard way when I threw away someone’s very spoiled Kerrygold butter at work some time ago and she was like ‘that was really expensive’ (I can’t stand expired stuff in shared fridges; there was also ample warning!)

@skinnylatte Personally, I miss Anchor butter (from NZ), which is what I remember as a kid in Manila. Didn’t realize how good I had it then!
