@dnc Correct. Hedge apple or Osage orange are both names for this. It is placed in attics to keep silverfish at bay.

@dnc it's a hedge apple, or Osage orange. In my area, it's al last resort food for grazing animals. Probably not toxic but do your due diligence. Keeps ants away.

@dnc Osage Orange. Most emphatically NOT!! Also known locally as Monkey Brains (or Balls). They make a nice color contrast to pumpkins, I use three as a tripod under my pumpkins, just for pretty.
