CSX debuts its first hydrogen-fuel cell locomotive

CSX today debuted its first hydrogen fuel-cell locomotive, which was converted from a conventional four-axle unit using a conversion kit supplied by Canadian Pacific Kansas City.

The locomotive, No. 2100, was built at CSX’s Huntington Locomotive Shop in West Virginia, which will handle hydrogen fuel cell conversions under a partnership with CPKC.

DaMonsterKnees,

I know this isn't helpful, but I couldn't help but think, "oh boy, that'll be a hoot when it derails."

Rentlar,

I am more of a believer in hydrogen trains over hydrogen cars, for it to actually work. We still need commercially available amd competitive green sources of hydrogen.

cAUzapNEAGLb,
