As someone who heads social media at a corporate level, I wonder how others are navigating internal discussions over what do with Twitter/X?

Does your company have guidelines regarding platforms it uses to communicate/interact externally? If not, what argument would you make to pull the plug on X?

@tannerman We’re watching volume which continues to drop

@garythegreat Yeah aside from the social/ethical issues, our data is also showing declining engagement, clicks, and even impressions.

@tannerman
Assuming your company has internal standards for inclusiveness, diversity, and behavior, I would expect that putting employees in an external environment where none of those things are respected would be problematic. If at all possible, my company would have too much class to be there and everyone would know it.

But I'm just some guy laying in bed with his cat.

silentobserver,

@tannerman If companies were not already looking to sunset Tweeting… idk. But if it were a new company, would you even start there? I don’t think so. It’s poisonous. Why add that kind of stress to your brand? It’s not worth it.
