Remember 7 October 2023. Now we have the same discussions again. And we will have them again and again, until the homes of the originators look like Berlin 1945.
A tragedy and a complete failure of our political and philosophical leaders. There is no strategy, they only know tactics (to gain their own benefit). Still trying to make deals with the villains instead of isolating them.
To do differently, it would require honesty. But everyone is just lying.
One of the few valuables for Russia to pay for drones and ammunition is gold. And oil. But Iran doesn't need more oil.
What Russia can offer, is land. Occupied land. And a world order, where it is legal to claim other peoples land by force.
They have the same goal and pull on the same strings. That needs coordination, because their supplies are not endless.
But how far does that coordination go?
@ErikJonker@geopolitics#Russia / #Putin hates liberal democracies - it makes a lot of sense to collaborate with other criminal governments like that of Iran to further destabilize democratic regions of the world. I hope the more clever part of politicians wouldn't get distracted too much.

Russia is much more stupid than some people think. The bureaucratic and corrupt line of command ensures slow and inefficient decision-making.
And besides that, Putin's strategic acumen has proven to be a mess.
@bmk@geopolitics ..that's actually my biggest worry, that we assume too much rational decision making, with the invasion of Ukraine he already proved how irrational he can be.
