@larsmb it should be, as it is also distributed via f-droid.org and there is a tar ball at least. But I did not find it on GitHub either yet.

@adrianS Perhaps it's https://github.com/osmandapp/OsmAnd/blob/master/OsmAnd/src/net/osmand/plus/plugins/srtm/TerrainLayer.java - the build scripts for the input files are still unfound, tho :-)

(Not the greatest documentation, I think.)
