So my plan with my current #VPN provider expires soon and I’m thinking of moving to #Proton. I like the idea of getting, as part of the plan, extras such as Proton mail - get some control and #privacy over my email accounts (away from Gmail). However, I am a little worried that if I create multiple email addresses I essentially lock myself into Proton’s paid plan… Losing email addresses would be an unnecessary nightmare to manage 🤔
Has anyone else switched to Proton to manage their VPN & emails?

@lwpembleton I use Proton Mail, but have intentionally kept my VPN separate, using Mullvad.

An easy way to avoid a lock-in with Proton would be to register a custom domain using some cheap provider, and set up emails on that domain on Proton. Then, if you ever need to move, you just set the custom domain up on your new provider.

@liampomfret kept separate to ensure no possible connection/linking of the IDs or because you prefer Mullvad as a VPN?

@lwpembleton A little of column A and a little of column B. It’s possible to have an entirely anonymous account with Mullvad, buying code cards instead of paying them directly for an account, which I don’t think any other VPN offers. Does mean there’s no possible account recovery if you lose your login though.
