@divya Made complex by the fact that (as you would know) kāsu is also the SE Asian Tamil word for cents/ sens. So cash can sometimes be coin too.

@divya @cydonian and there are many more words that have their roots in a language from their colonies. That way the English language never discriminated…

@ram @divya Yes the dacoits stole a lot from us. Indeed, no word in the vernacular was ever a pariah for the English lexicon, even if it wasn’t always ek dum original…
