@Cwiiis I grew up on Usenet, and have spent 25 years of my life on public forums; I also don’t have a pathological need of people “liking me”, and I don’t derive any sense of self-worth from the approval or disapproval of people I don’t know…
That, of course, doesn’t prevent me from thinking a bunch of these people should discover how chemical fires work directly up close, but other than that, I stopped caring long ago. It’s the cost of doing open source software

@Cwiiis it’s definitely not for everyone, and I don’t blame people checking out of the whole thing: it’s relentless, and it gets worse every year, because the old hands move on, and there are more people taking full advantage of the fact that they can’t get punched in the face over the Internet for what they say
