Officials claim to be proud of their so-called “quick builds” and “slow streets,” but constrained in offering more of same by their budgets and decision-making processes.... What if DIY road diet features happened to appear overnight on a bunch of residential streets? What if these were difficult enough to remove that people had to get used to them before MTA restored the status quo ante?
