People hate advertising so much there's actually faint marks of where someone marked the "mute" button for a lot of these gas pumps. Also, did you know that. Try it. Second button down on the right.
@jake4480 It's made even worse by the absolutely horrible speaker/volume combo of gas pump audio systems. As if anything that could be said via that medium will sway me to spend more money on whatever they're talking about.
@skullvalanche 🤣😂🤣 for REAL though. Literally more noise and nonsense. I mean gas stations ALREADY fucking SUCK, right? Like, they answered the question 'how can we make it worse'
@jake4480@skullvalanche Haahaa, so true. The station where I usually go has this piercing sound that actually hurts my ears. Something about those small, high treble speakers combined with high volume

Jarring and awful - and thinking about it now, I'm not neurodivergent myself (not diagnosed anyway) but for people who are, I can't imagine how horrible they must be when you're just trying to pump gas. Nothing in the world is made with anyone like that in mind, of course not, why would companies care 🙄
@jake4480 I've worked on the guts/brains of modern gas pumps. not that brand/model shown. a competitor AFAIK. agreed all that multimedia/IoT stuff is annoyimg for users who just want to get gas, pay for it and go
