The only conclusion is that Toranaga-sama is a cold blooded manipulative bastard. But the smartest man in the room. Yabushige was led to his death like a lamb to the slaughter, he never had a chance.
I hope they are not going to make a season 2 (based on... ??), but some flashbacks hint at a more complex ending for Blackthorne than what was in the book or in the previous version.
Oh yeah. It's a gorgeous TV series, from start to finish. Excellent actors, amazing recreation of Renaissance Japan, very good fight scenes. Highly recommended.
