I never spoke to my kids in baby talk. I spoke to them the same way I speak to you minus the cussing. From jump, I just explained what words meant as if we spoke different languages and gave context to concepts. I started cussing again when they were 12. 😃

@Aviva_Gary I’m not saying they didn’t know, I just didn’t do it. It’s such a natural part of my speech that by the time they were 12, I’d had it. I never cussed at them, just in speech when needed.

Same here. Maybe I spoke and sang very softly when they were very small, though, but no baby talk.

@projektionsyta Same. Soft tones and basic explanations. If I was watching news and it talked about going to space, I explained when space exploration began and told them everything I knew about whatever the subject was.
