@vriska@meso I know some people that make homeschool curriculum for Christians and all of it is super high quality across the board except for one area: it criticizes the theory of evolution. Annoying, but the good news is, you're the teacher and you can tailor the lesson.
@grillchen@vriska@meso@ageha half my friends were homeschooled, they got socialization by meeting other kids in things like music classes outside the home, sports things, and meetups specifically to bring together bunches of homeschool kids. but a lot of parents don't do this sadly
got put into (catholic) school here partway through after home stuff, and never made one friend in all the homeschool things beforehand. most time is floating on your own, with just now then floating in a big lake of vaguely familiar faces
@ageha@grillchen@vriska@meso I just have mixed feelings because like, elementary school was hell for me and homeschooling would have been preferable. high school no though
@sun@grillchen@meso@ageha when I dropped out at 16 my mother let me homeschool myself and all I did was read old romance novels and watch Frasier reruns on lifetime and play sports and i'd like to think that made me the woman I am today
@sun@grillchen@vriska@ageha elementary school was great though I wanted to be homeschooled around 6th grade. I wish I didn't stop going to school though now I have socialization issues
@sun@meso@ageha@grillchen@vriska I was bullied throughout and that destroyed my confidence. Would have been better being homeschooled and then playing with the neighbourhood kids.
