@julienmarchal Landslide blocked the track near Modane - already autumn of last year. Stabilising the mountain is complicated. It might reopen from this autumn.

I was just doing quick maths here on a potential future Paris-Rome direct high speed service. 7,5hrs should be feasible for those 1430km… it takes 1,45hrs to make Paris-Lyon and it takes 4,15hrs for Turin-Rome. If the new tunnel Lyon-Turin enables a connection in 1,5hrs for those 300kms, which seems feasible according to what project announces - then this would be quite the amazing journey to do and a hell of a high speed connection!
@julienmarchal That high speed project though... Improving the connection to the tunnel, French side, is turning into a damned nightmare. You also need to double track St André le Gaz - Chambéry.
