If you’re a developer working on a fediverse app or service and want to get it right – or just don’t want to be the center of the next firestorm – here are a few suggestions.

I probably can’t sue the photographer, but I also didn’t consent, and most reasonable people would agree that I have every right to be mad. Only a dickhead would say ‘well just don’t go out in public’.”

This sounds very similar to a concept I was thinking of a while back, casual privacy:
What casual privacy isn’t, is a foolproof cage around my data. A deliberately malicious and powerful actor could no doubt still get a look into my home if they wanted to. They probably could manage to eavesdrop at the restaurant and certainly could walk around to get a different angle of my computer screen. That’s not the point.
