“The Cybertruck is not road-legal in China, although that hasn’t stopped Tesla from displaying the rust-prone electric pickup in some of its Chinese showrooms. Likewise, Tesla has just announced plans for a European Cybertruck tour. But, just like in China, the EV pickup cannot be sold in the EU.”

@parismarx "Tesla’s vice president of vehicle engineering, Lars Moravy: Unfortunately, it’s impossible to make a 3.2-mm radius on a 1.4-mm sheet of stainless steel."

HAHAHA what? Of course it's possible to bend a sheet of 1,4 mm steel to a radius of 3,2 mm, or anything else you like. You just chose to build it with sharp, folded corners, likely because it's cheaper and simpler to manufacture. It just isn't road legal here.

@carto @parismarx only a true genius and visionary would design a car that's not road legal in 2 of the largest markets 😂

@parismarx This is peak Musk. Right down to snubbing India for China.

In case you missed it: China's mapping data is obfuscated and cant leave the country. https://medium.com/@anastasia.bizyayeva/every-map-of-china-is-wrong-bc2bce145db2
Does this mean Tesla needs Chinese devs in China to make "FSD" work?
