I read an article from the online literary magazine, Empty Mirror. The article, Notes on Three Lost Poems by Gregory Corso, was about unpublished poetry by the Beat Poet, Gregory Corso, the youngest member of the Beat Poetry circle.
The idea of notes on lost poems got me thinking – what if all you had were fragments; the titles, brief notes of emotional/critical response to the poems, perhaps illustrations for each poem, and a few indiscernible or indecipherable lines. The three collage compositions are the result of this what if scenario.
Entopic graphomania is a #surrealist and automatic method of drawing in which dots are made at the sites of impurities in a blank sheet of paper, and lines are then made between the dots; these can be either “curved lines… or straight lines.”. #IthellColquhoun described its results as "the most austere kind of #GeometricAbstraction". It is to be distinguished from “entoptic” methods of drawing or art-making, inspired by entoptic phenomena.
Once I scanned my compositions in, I then started using some of my imaging software hocus-pocus to further modify the pieces.
gliszs glabs going down the dallgzs
Seek sorrow glabs down gliszs doles
Dolomite dozes under dallgzs glimmer-gliszs
dozing sgalbzs seek slender sbaggles
so there is Noh there down the dallgzs doles drizzle-glisz
