The board had spent more than a year considering the Taser-equipped drone project but had never considered any use case in which it would be a solution to mass shootings.
Advisory board members told The Markup that Smith’s announcement was unexpected and made without consultation or input from the ethics body the company had worked relatively well with for the previous four years. In the past, the board’s work prompted Axon to ban facial recognition on its body cameras out of concern the technology could not be responsibly rolled out."
my biggest takeaway from this article is that axon is a $15 billion company.
#Axon Enterprise is best known for its electroshock #Taser device that immobilizes criminal suspects. Less familiar: what one-time staffers describe as an all-in culture, in which some felt pressed to be tased before onlookers, get permanently inked with company tattoos, or join a stock plan that left some in the lurch. Axon says it never pressures employees to do any of these things.

Nice to see #Axon framework & Axon server are born from #ddd insights and they still recommend starting from strategic DDD before selecting any kind of framework, rather than simply saying their framework is always the best fit regardless of problem space.
