I finally had some time again to play #ResidentEvil 4 Remake. The last two sidequests in the castle area were a bit annoying. I couldn't find the crow for ages and I spent a bunch of ammo until I figured out the egg. 🙈
The fight with Salazar was also surprisingly hard. I died a few times until I figured it out. And I still took some hits.
Secrent Agent Leon also shot the first barrel he saw and triggered a huge fight on the island. Very sneaky... 😅 #ShareYourGames
@mforester awesome. I'm happy that you've been able to get some solid progress in. #RE4R is pretty awesome, so far pretty much everyone I've talked to about it has enjoyed it which makes me excited for their plans regarding future releases!
But 4 didn't really need to be remade and nobody was really asking for it, because the original is still absolutely playable and still looks okay.
Yeah, I agree with you here. I felt this as well, and thought #RE4 aged gracefully. That being said, I can respect that they chose to tackle one of the most iconic #residentevil titles to remake. There certainly are a lot of little things that demonstrate the thoughtful attention that went into recreating the RE4 experience. Even though #RE4R exists, I think the two can coexist and complement each other well. It's done a stellar job of modernizing some sections, while expanding and re-imagining others. It's very cool. :)
Oh yeah! I made a real dent in #ResidentEvil 4 Remake today. I got a good two hours of play in. I've still not entirely made it out of the castle, but I finally encountered the long awaited insects. 😁
I also went on a fun mine car ride, took Luis for a date to the shooting gallery, fought two Gigantes and took down the insect's hive. Ultimately, I encountered and fought Krauser and lost a dear friend in the process.
Man, this game is so good. 🥰
@mforester I really enjoyed what Capcom did with Luis in #RE4R. He was much more sympathetic this time around, and his design was stellar. I also thoroughly enjoyed the fight with Krauser, it's probably one of my favorite boss fights in the #residentevil franchise.
Made some actual progress in #ResidentEvil 4 Remake. 😎
Brought down the big cheese himself -- on my first try. 😁 I remember him kicking my ass back in the original, but then again Leon wasn't as "agile" as he is now.
I've now reached the castle, which looks Dark Souls as fuck. 😅
I'm also beginning to like this more serious, professional, but world-weary Leon. I think I might also like Ashley a bit better than back in the original.
Also: chainsaw-sisters! 😬 #ShareYourGames
@mforester The tools Leon has today made Mendez's fight really fun. Congrats on beating him on your first try! After hearing your thoughts on the castle, I'm very interested in which section will end up being your favorite. I'm glad to hear what you said about Leon and Ashely, their #RE4R iterations grew on me as well. The chainsaw sisters were brutal, lol. Still lovin' the screenshots--keep them coming!
Unbelievable, but I finally managed to finish #ShadowsOfRose, the DLC to #ResidentEvil Village.
Only took me three or four sessions to get through that three hour long game. 😅
I think it was surprisingly good. I don't know where I picked up that people didn't seem to like it, but they're wrong. It's different from other RE games, but in a good way.
Now, I'm on to RE4Make. 😁 I've already played up and through the village square and the little farm next to the windmill. #ShareYourGames
@mforester I enjoyed the #ShadowsOfRose dlc as well. I hope #RE4R is fun for you :) I had a blast playing it. Please post updates if you wouldn't mind! ᕙ( •̀ ᗜ •́ )ᕗ
Hello all. Huge gamer, movie lover and tech geek. Also really into Japanese culture. Mac user and learning to code. Looking for positive vibes and like minded people.
@iambubbaq#RE4R being your favorite is hard to disagree with, it's an incredible experience. #RE1R was also incredible and really set a strong precedent for remakes. Jill Valentine is probably my favorite protagonist, though Claire and Ethan are very close as well.
Level 1 can be frustrating at some points, but it's immensely satisfying when the strategies come together for a clean run. I also deeply appreciate the game design decisions that allow for those challenge runs to exist. That said, I wouldn't recommend them to everyone lol. Can't say I've done a #knifeonly run yet, but it sounds pretty fun tbh. I might have to give it a shot some time.
